Self-Initiated Study

These pieces explore organic form and movement through simulation, focusing on how structures grow, shift and evolve over time. The first centres on a coral-like form that expands and branches, while the second looks at a softer, membrane-like structure that feels bodily and symbiotic. Both are studies in building motion that feels alive, using natural references as a starting point.

A big part of the process was developing materials that could carry that sense of growth. On the coral piece I worked through different noise structures and surface detail until the form felt layered and responsive, rather than static. The aim was to create something that feels controlled but still unpredictable, where the motion and texture support each other.
