Art direction, creative, edit & motion for Netflix
For the launch of Ragnarok Season 3 on Netflix, we shifted gears creatively to match the evolution of the show and its characters. After the previous season’s moody, dark tones that reflected the characters’ transition into adulthood, the client wanted something vibrant and bold to reflect the new energy of the season. This was a fantastic challenge, especially given the show’s deep roots in Norse mythology, which is presented through an in-world comic book. With this as a creative springboard, I had a wealth of inspiration to draw from—from the mythological imagery to the striking landscapes of the Nordic world.
The result was a dynamic, colorful, and full-of-life campaign. I leaned heavily into the visual beauty of the Norse landscapes, pulling color inspiration from the mesmerizing hues of the aurora borealis. The text treatment was designed to reference comic book typography, enhancing that graphic, larger-than-life feel. I was particularly drawn to the idea of leading with light—using it to burn text into the screen, creating an immersive, almost mystical effect. This campaign stands out as one of my favorites.
